Itinerary

DAY 1. BILBAO AIRPORT – SAN SEBASTIÁN

Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel in San Sebastián. Bathed by the Cantabrian Sea and surrounded by green mountains, Donostia-San Sebastián presents a fascinating landscape that captivates every person visiting the city. Free afternoon to have a walk along the amazing beach of «la concha» or a walk until the beach of Ondarreta to admire the Peine del Viento (Wind’s comb), a magnificent sculpture by Eduardo Chillida. Overnight stay in San Sebastián.

DAY 2. SAN SEBASTIÁN

Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will get to know the city of San Sebastián. Walking through the city centre with our local guide we will find the Buen Pastor cathedral, a centenary temple of Neogothic style. The temple is 75 metres high and can be seen from many parts of the city. The old part, situated at the foot of Mount Urgull, is a charming place whose streets form a very cosy place. In its centre we will find Constitución square, with square’s past as a bullring. In addition, we will stop by San Vicente church, the oldest church in the city, the Basilica de Santa Maria (entrance included), numbered balconies that serve as a reminder of the a splendid building that has gothic and baroque elements, and many more interesting places in this unique city. Lunch by the customer. Free time in the afternoon. Overnight at the hotel in San Sebastián.

DAY 3. BILBAO / VITORIA

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Bilbao. There we will visit with local guide the main monuments of the city, such as: San Nicolás church, San Antón church, Santiago cathedral and of course the Guggenheim Museum (entrance included), a reference for the lovers of contemporary art. Lunch by the customer. In the afternoon we will depart for Vitoria, powerful industrial centre, home of the Basque Parliament, the Sta. Maria Cathedral (entrance included), Plaza de la Virgen Blanca and the Plaza Mayor, as well as charming places, full of character that are all worth seeing. Return to the hotel in Bilbao for overnight.

DAY 4. RIOJA ALAVESA HARO – LAGUARDIA -BILBAO

Breakfast at the hotel and departure to La Rioja Alavesa. Here we will arrange a visit to a traditional winery with wine tasting in Haro or nearby villages. The Rioja tradition is very well represented by these centenary wineries, which keep bottles from the time streets and homes of Laguardia it is full of old subterranean bodegas, and over them there are many te the wonderful Riojan wines. We will have lunch In a winery or in a Restaurant. After the lunch we will visit the medieval city of Laguardia (13th century), capital of La Rioja Alavesa. Under the stone paved streets and homes of Laguardia it is full of old subterranean bodegas, and over them there are many historic monuments and sites, like the Gothic Facade of Santa María de los Reyes church (entrance included) from the 14th century. After this visit the coach will drive us back to our hotel in Bilbao. Overnight.

DAY 5. HONDARRIBIA – BIARRITZ – SAINT JEAN DE LUZ – BILBAO

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for trip to Hondarribia. Bathed by the Bay of Biscay, Hondarribia is located in the North west of the historical territory of Gipuzkoa. We will begin our visit enjoying the amazing view of Txingudi Bay, with the neighbouring Hendaye in front of us. In addition, Hondarribia houses many historic treasures that give the village a special charm. In the old part of the town we will enjoy its stone-paved streets and the walls surrounding it, its houses with coats of arms and singular buildings such as Emperor Carlos V’s castle. After our lunch we will departure for St. Jean de Luz and Biarritz, the famous French resort villas, and enjoy there our afternoon before driving back to our hotel in Bilbao. Overnight.

DAY 6. PAMPLONA

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for an excursion to Pamplona with local guide, the capital of the Ancient Kingdom of Navarre. Founded in 75 B.C. by the Roman general Pompey on the ancient Vascon settlement of Iruña, it has been crossed by several cultures throughout the centuries and has always been an important stop- ping point on the Pilgrim’s Way to Santiago de Compostela. Nowadays, it is a modern city with many large parks that is full of corners with charm and history. The Old Quarter, surrounded by walls and watched over by towers and belfries, is a medieval city of narrow streets, small squares, churches and noble houses. The Cathedral of Santa María (en- trance included) and its spectacular and harmonious Gothic cloister, the Museum of Navarre that conserves valuable examples of Navarrese art through the centuries, the General Archive, the church of San Saturnino or the City Hall with its Baroque facade are only a few examples of the great buildings we will come across. Lunch by the customer. In the afternoon we will drive back to our hotel in Bilbao for the last overnight in this wonderful region.

DAY 7. BILBAO AIRPORT

Breakfast at the hotel or take away, depending on our departure time. Transfer to airport. End of our Services
