Itinerary

DÍA 1. MADRID AIRPORT – MADRID – EUROPE PARK

Arrival at Airport. The group meets with your Tour director and coach for transfer to Madrid city centre. Free time in the city. Lunch on your own. In the afternoon we continue to Torrejón to visit the Europe Park, the most spectacular replicas of European monuments are assembled in this park: Brandenburg Gate, Berlín Wall, Greek Theatre, Fontana of Trevi, Eiffel Tower, Puerta de Alcalá or London Bridge, are some of them. Accomodations in hotel in Madrid.

DAY 2. MADRID – ROYAL PALACE – ALMUDENA’S CATHEDRAL / ALCALÁ DE HENARES

After Breakfast, we visit the Royal Palace (entrance included), only used for state ceremonies. The current Royal Palace, was built on the site of the old Alcázar which was destroyed by fire. King Felipe V decided to build a palace for his Borbon dynasty. The inside stands out for the richness of its materials and by the works of art. Later we continue our journey to the Almudena Cathedral (entrance included), the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Madrid. Lunch on your own. In the afternoon, we continue our journey to Alcalá de Henares, birthplace of the illustrious Miguel de Cervantes, author of «Don Quixote», and home to one of the most prestigious universities in Spain, has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Its rich monumental Heritage, formed by churches, convents and University buildings, gives us a glimpse of life in Castile during the Spanish Golden Age. Accommodation Hotel.

DAY 3. MADRID – SEGOVIA – SALAMANCA

Breakfast. We’ll visit Segovia with a local guide, the old Quarter of which, along with its Roman aqueduct, are World Heritage Sites. In addition to its famous aqueduct, numerous Romanesque churches and Fortress «Alcázar» (entrance included), lunch on your own. After depart by coach to Salamanca, check in. In the afternoon Salamanca walking tour with your tour director, you can see the Cathedral and University (entrance included). Lodging at he Hotel

DAY 4. SALAMANCA – GUIMARAES – PORTO

Breakfast, after depart by coach to the border and Guimarães, lunch on your own, after walking tour with your tour director one of the country’s most important historical cities. Its historical center is a la UNESCO World Heritage Site, we will see the Castle (entrance included), continuation depart to Porto. Lodging at the Hotel.

DAY 5. PORTO – DOURO CRUISE

Breakfast. Panoramic sightseeing of Porto, its historical core was proclaimed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996. Among the architectural highlights of the city Porto Cathedral is the oldest surviving structure, together with the small romanesque Church of Cedofeita, the gothic church of São Francisco, the remnants of the city walls and a few 15th century houses. The baroque style is well represented in the city in the elaborate gilt work interior decoration of the churches of St. Francis and Santa Clara or the Episcopal Palace…The neoclassicism and romanticism of the 19th and 20th centuries also added interesting monuments to the landscape of the city, like the magnificent Stock Exchange Palace (Palacio da Bolsa). Lunch in restaurant reserved and in the afternoon, we enjoy a very special Douro River Cruise «Cruceiro das Seis Pontes» (included). Porto is also famous for its production of port wine. We have the opportunity to walk through a wine cellar followed by a tasting. Return to the Hotel and accommodation

DAY 6. AVEIRO – COIMBRA – LISBON

Breakfast. In the morning we start our trip towards Aveiro, part of the city is bathed through canals, bridges, and painted boats called moliceiros, similar to the gondolas of Venice. For this reason, the city is called the «Portuguese Venice». The real charm of Aveiro lies in its coast, with its fantastic sandy beaches as São Jacinto, Barra and Costa Nova. This local coast is well known as Silver Coast, due to the beautiful and clean beaches. We continue our route to Coímbra. Lunch on your own. After Coímbra sightseeing with local guide of this historical city, classified as a World Heritagesite by UNESCO in 2013, site of the country’s greatest University for the past five centuries. Continuation depart to Lisbon. Check in at the Hotel and accommodation.

DAY 7. LISBON

After having breakfast we meet with our local guide for discovering Lisbon, Portugal’s hilly capital, is a coastal city known for its café culture and soulful Fado music. From imposing São Jorge Castle (entrance included), the view encompasses the old city’s pastelcolored buildings, Tagus Estuary and the Ponte 25 de abril suspension bridge. This city is rich in architecture; Romanesque, Gothic, Manueline, Baroque. Modern and Postmodern constructions can be found all over Lisbon. The city is also crossed by historical boulevards and monuments along the main thoroughfares, particularly in the upper districts; we also visit the Belém Tower (entrance included), part of a defense system at the mouth of the Tagus river, as well as Jeronimos Monastery (entrance included) which became a burial place, for kings, and later poets. Today it is admired by one and all, not only as a remarkable piece of architecture but also as integral part of Portuguese culture and identity. The Hieronymite Monastery was declared a National Monument in 1907 and in 1983 UNESCO classified it as a «World Heritage Site». Lunch by the costumer. Later we will have free time to discover the city by strolling about Alfama quarter or taking a coffee in Brasileira Café or doing some shopping in Rua Augusta. Accommodation in hotel in Lisbon.

DAY 8. LISBON – LISBON AIRPORT

Breakfast at the hotel or take away, depending on our departure time. Transfer to the Airport. End of the tour and our Services.
