Itinerary
DÍA 1. MADRID AIRPORT – MADRID – EUROPE PARK
Arrival at Airport. The group meets with your Tour director and coach for transfer to Madrid city centre. Free time in the city. Lunch on your own. In the afternoon we continue to Torrejón to visit the Europe Park, the most spectacular replicas of European monuments are assembled in this park: Brandenburg Gate, Berlín Wall, Greek Theatre, Fontana of Trevi, Eiffel Tower, Puerta de Alcalá or London Bridge, are some of them. Accomodations in hotel in Madrid.
DAY 2. MADRID – ROYAL PALACE – ALMUDENA’S CATHEDRAL / ALCALÁ DE HENARES
After Breakfast, we visit the Royal Palace (entrance included), only used for state ceremonies. The current Royal Palace, was built on the site of the old Alcázar which was destroyed by fire. King Felipe V decided to build a palace for his Borbon dynasty. The inside stands out for the richness of its materials and by the works of art. Later we continue our journey to the Almudena Cathedral (entrance included), the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Madrid. Lunch on your own. In the afternoon, we continue our journey to Alcalá de Henares, birthplace of the illustrious Miguel de Cervantes, author of «Don Quixote», and home to one of the most prestigious universities in Spain, has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Its rich monumental Heritage, formed by churches, convents and University buildings, gives us a glimpse of life in Castile during the Spanish Golden Age. Accommodation Hotel.
DAY 3. MADRID – ROYAL SEAT OF SAN LORENZO DEL ESCORIAL / DEBOD TEMPLE
Breakfast. We start our journey to San Lorenzo del Escorial (entrance included), is a historical residence of the King of Spain. In 1984, UNESCO declared it as World He- ritage Site. It is one of the Spanish royal sites and functions as a Monastery, royal palace, Museum, and School. El Escorial has been the burial site for most of the Spanish Kings of the last five centuries, Bourbons as well as Habsburgs. Lunch on your own. Later, we continue our journey to visit the Debod Temple, an ancient Egyptian temple which was dismantled and rebuilt in Madrid. As a sign of gratitude for the help provided by Spain in saving the temples of Abu Sim- bel, the Egyptian state donated the temple of Debod to Spain in 1968. Free time for shopping or tasting flavourful «tapas»(snacks) in traditional markets such as San Miguel or San Antón. Accommodation in hotel in Madrid.
DAY 4. SEGOVIA / ROYAL PALACE OF LA GRANJA DE SAN ILDEFONSO
Breakfast. We’ll visit Segovia with a local guide, the old Quarter of which, along with its Roman aqueduct, are World Heritage Sites. In addition to its famous aqueduct, numerous Romanesque churches, the Cathedral (entrance included) and Fortress «Alcázar» (entrance included) go to form this magnificent landscape that presides over this part of Castile. More over, Segovia is an excellent starting point to tour the province and visit to the La Granja Palace de San Ildefonso (entrance included), among other attractions. Lunch by the costumer. Accommodation in hotel in Madrid.
DAY 5. HABSBURG’S MADRID / ROYAL PALACE OF ARANJUEZ
Breakfast. We meet with our local guide walking tour through Habsburg’s Madrid The most Historic neighborhood in Madrid keeps the secrets of the great monarchs who once lived in it among its monuments, churches and palaces. During this tour you can visit the most emblematic places such as La plaza de la Villa, la plaza Mayor, La plaza de la paja (ancient muslim souk), Segovia Street, Plaza de los carros among others. Lunch on your own. Go on our tour with an essential visit to the Amazing Royal Palace of Aranjuez (entrance included), a residence of the King of Spain, the palace is open to the public as one of the Spanish royal sites. Some of the highlights of this palace are the Mirrors room, Chinese or Porcelain room. Accommodation in hotel in Madrid.
DAY 6. MADRID AIRPORT
Breakfast at the hotel or take away, depending on our departure time. Transfer to airport. End of our Services
