BALEARES
The Pearl of the Mediterranean
Endless beaches, hidden creeks and cliffs falling off to the sea; virgin nature that leads to a rich heritage; clear waters, changing colours in every tonality from blue to green; hideaway for artists and bohemian from every time; first-class yacht races; flavours that brings us to the old days and VIP clubs transporting us to the most sophisticated and fashionable nights. These are just some of the attractions which the isles have to offer us: Mallorca, Menorca and Cabrera, Ibiza and Formentera.
No doubt about it, one of the best fortunes these islands have is the natural surrounding, such as the National Park of Cabrera or the Nature Reserve of Ses Salines in Ibiza and Formentera. Not to mention Menorca’s distinction as Biosphere Reserve, granted by UNESCO in 1993. In general, all islands got an extraordinary night life, but Mallorca and Ibiza are well-known by their offer, ruling some businesses internationally prestigious, set sometimes in places where sophistication means extravagancy with daily
shows and performances
PEOPLE
The Balearic people, even though they are from different islands, they all share common features: they are serious, calm, affable and moderate, and have a great entrepreneurial spirit.
GASTRONOMY
Nothing more typical than the ensaimada of Mallorca, but it is essential not to miss the sobrasada, the lobster stew, the pastries of Menorca, the Mahon cheese, the Mallorcan fried, the brut rice (dirty), the bread with oil, or the tumbet.
CULTURE
The festivities of San Antonio Abad and the demons in Mallorca, the Firó, which is a simulation of the battle between Moors and Christians of Sóller or Pollensa, the festivities of Sant Joan in Ciutadella, or the hippie markets of Ibiza and Formentera.
