Land of contrasts
The Crown of Aragon gave this land its full historic perspective and conferred it a Kingdom status, but this autonomous community has been for centuries a settlement for many cultures that left a rich, varied artistic heritage. Therefore, from Romanesque to baroque, all the way up to gothic, renaissance and mudéjar, Aragón hides treasures cut in stone waiting, impassive, as time goes by. An example of that are the fortresses, more than 500 in this community watching over paths, villages and landscapes.
Any visitor interested in reaching those lands will be able to discover unexpected spots, from impressive high peaks in the Pyrenees to the north, all the way to spectacular valleys drawn by the rivers flowing down the Teruel mountain range. Mounts with glaciers, river gorges and dense forests are complemented by dry steppes in Valle del Ebro and lush orchards where inhabit a rich and varied wildlife. All along three provinces, Huesca, Zaragoza and Teruel, a tourist can choose whether skiing over craggy Pyrenees peaks, or sailing the lakes and reservoirs, going round mudéjar routes, taking a walk through the streets of their centenary villages, or even enjoy its gastronomy, based on popular dishes, very different everyone, depending on the region they are made in.

GASTRONOMY
In Aragón we highly recommend that you taste the Teruel ham, the ternasco,
the chilindrón chicken, the longaniza, the ajoarriero cod, the borage, the Calanda
peaches, or its excellent wines of Cariñena, Calatayud or Somontano wines..
CULTURE
It is essential not to miss the festivities of El Pilar, San Lorenzo, La Vaquilla, or the
Lovers of Teruel. And, of course, the drum route, Holy Week, the carnivals or their Spanish dance jota.
